"All Roads Lead to Dolly" by Alexis Bierman (First Friday)

"All Roads Lead to Dolly" is the title of this show and the bass guitar has a Dolly song about yellow rose written on the neck. Alexis Bierman’s work is grounded in the joy of connecting to her divine sense of creativity. As a child, she knew this sense of creative play as something that earned her the nickname “mess-maker” (sung by her mother to the tune of Fiddler on the Roof’s “Matchmaker”). As a fully grown adult, Alexis still likes to get out a palate of mixed media pieces from her treasures and allow her brain to go on creative auto-pilot. While she has formal degrees in anthropology, psychology, and religion, art has always been a central part of her life. In 2016, she began making mosaics and found great peace in upcycling pieces of crockery destined for the landfill, along with vintage jewelry and other found objects.  Alexis believes in the healing power of art and creativity, and used COVID-19 as a pivot point to return to graduate school in order to become a ‘creative counselor.’Show dates Dec 1- Dec 31st 2023
