About the event
Un Grito Gallery is excited to present "Field notes from Salado Creek”, a solo exhibition of new works on paper by Eva Marengo Sanchez. This show will open Thursday, November 6th, and Friday, November 7th, 2025, from 7-10 pm with a closing reception held on November 20th, 2025.
Statement by the artist: “This is a show of simple, soft paintings, mostly painted from observation on site at a stretch of Salado Creek, three minutes from my home. They are my “notes” in an attempt to build a closer relationship with that location specifically, and the natural world generally. I’ve watched my part of the creek fill with trash and debris after a rain; I’ve cleaned it and then watch the cycle repeat. It’s been demoralizing; the visual evidence of how much our environment is suffering because of human pollution, how systemic the causes of climate change are, and how powerless…
