Flight Gallery is excited to present the exhibition “Music For Ottis. “ Featuring the fiber work of Casey Galloway and the soothing sounds of the Spectral Geezers. Music For Ottis was written for Casey and Torin’s first son (Ottis) while he was buzzing through his first year of life. Songs to sleep to, to chill out to. Songs that feel warm and bring comfort. Songs that reflect the landscape and vibe of South Texas. Songs that drift slowly and fast. One two three, One two three, One two three... As the album of songs was forming Casey began creating weavings inspired by the music and her experience of becoming a mother. These woven works are an ode to the transformative power of parenthood and a meditation on the physical and mental trauma that occurs during childbirth/postpartum.
