Statement:

Adalberto Perez, born 1962, Puerto Rico. One Species - One Planet - Many Cultured Barriers “A society must assume that it is stable, but the artist must know, and he must let us know, that there is nothing stable under heaven,” James Baldwin wrote in his 1962 essay The Creative Process. As children we questioned indoctrinated values, often following our own minds which caused tension with the elders of the tribe. Many of us end up leading lives that are safe from criticism. Yet childhood memories are sweet and raise the question: should we abandon our indoctrinated fear of criticism, or look for a better, happier tribe?
