About the event
Artist Statement:
A nod to Benito Juarez on Cinco de Mayo, when the French were defeated in 1862 in the state of Puebla by outnumbered Mexican troops. Juarez gave the order for the execution of the puppet ruler Maximiliano by firing squad. Other revolutionary figures to be included are La Adelita, Lazaro Cardenas, and Emiliano. The famous quote, “Respeto es La Paz” by Juarez resonates to this day.
