Artist/Curator Statement (Albert Alvarez):

I champion the movie Robocop for its combination of action entertainment value, bombastic satire of American media, charming visual effects, and over the top gratuitous visuals. Along with the underlying themes of the human body and medical and technological interactions to enable the super man, the search for immortality and virtue seeking in the midst of a morally depleted American society and the corporate, political overlords wanting to crush the ills of society with brute force. This movie takes on these age old  conundrums of the history of civilization’s kings and monarchs and strikes at the heart of modern society wrestling with the same old issues but inches closer than ever before to the collision course of scientific authority and political power to affect the vessel of our organism, the human body.
