Un Grito Gallery is pleased to present "Run it Back,” an exhibition of recent works by Jason Edward Brown. This show will open Thursday, July 3rd and Friday, July 4th, 2025, from 7-10 pm with a closing reception held on July 17th, 2025.
“In this body of work, I’m interested in the tension between control and accident. Materials are pushed, layered, broken down, or repurposed. Repetition —not to replicate, but to reveal variation. Through iteration, subtle shifts emerge, and those shifts become the real subject.
Conceptually, these studies explore systems—natural, emotional, and manufactured. I borrow from patterns in nature, language, and memory, breaking them apart and reassembling them into visual arguments that ask more than they answer.
This body of work also reflects on time: how it moves, builds, and decays. Marks are laid down and scraped back. Layers are buried and unearthed. The final images carry the weight of…
