Un Grito Gallery is excited to present "This Is Not (Me)” an exhibition of recent works by Albert Alvarez. This show will open Thursday, July 31st and Friday, August 1st, 2025, from 7-10 pm with a closing reception held on August 14th, 2025.
Albert Alvarez is an artist from San Antonio, TX with 20 years experience painting portraits and landscapes in a surreal and mystical style. Alvarez is influenced by Theravada Buddhism and applies the wisdom of these teachings to his paintings. To do so, Alvarez has to study these teachings and synthesize them into his Texas, Tejano, and contemporary American culture and into pictures that viewers can connect with.
