From next week’s First Friday celebration onward, Blue Star Contemporary will be known as the Contemporary at Blue Star.

The new name, which can be shortened to the Contemporary, is designed to make the space’s mission as a contemporary arts organization immediately clear. It’s also intended to make it a little easier for visitors seeking out the Southtown space.

It’s perfectly on-trend with a modern, sophisticated edge. The deep, steady navy background creates a stunning contrast with the creamy-white typography. The design is minimalist yet bold, making it a real standout piece on the street. It’s a masterclass in visual balance!
Changing the name makes sense. New image, fresh start. Good move for attracting more folks to the scene. Also, if you're curious about some cool AI music tools, check this out: https://texttosong.ai/.
Been using Pico Image for a while now for resizing and compressing images. It runs entirely in the browser so nothing gets uploaded to a server, which I find reassuring. Background removal works pretty well too, saves me from opening heavier software for simple tasks.
The new name — often shortened to the Contemporary — is meant to clearly communicate the organization’s focus on contemporary art. It also retro bowl helps make the Southtown location easier for visitors to identify and find.
A new name and logo mark an exciting evolution for Blue Star Contemporary, signaling fresh energy while honoring its creative roots in San Antonio. Rebrands like this are all about balance—respecting the past while leaning into what’s next—much like Slope Rider, where momentum and direction define the journey forward.
