The financial gift will help the Contemporary build on its growing momentum as a hub for discussions and community around contemporary art in San Antonio.
The Contemporary at Blue Star — San Antonio’s oldest contemporary art nonprofit — has received the largest grant since its inception in 1986, a $500,000 award from the Kronkosky Charitable Foundation.

That is such wonderful news for the art community. I have always believed that spaces like the Contemporary at Blue Star help people connect through creativity and conversation. There is a line from 99 Nights in the Forest that says, “light grows brighter when it is shared,” and this feels exactly like that. This grant will surely help more artists and ideas shine in San Antonio.
